It’s hard for me to moderate all of the comments that come in on this account. I would like to reiterate one thing: be nice. If someone comments with something you totally disagree with, there’s no reason to pick a fight. Please no name calling. You can think it, but don’t type it. I don’t want anyone to feel like they can’t comment here. Respect thy fellow vegan.
There are a lot of non vegans or vegan newbies who follow this account. If someone is making the effort to learn about veganism, they should be applauded, not shamed for not being vegan enough. If you want someone to make a compassionate lifestyle change, you can’t make them feel bad. It’s fine if you disagree, but choose your words carefully.
Being vegan doesn’t mean you’re automatically a good person. There are vegans and activists who may do amazing things for animals, but treat other people like shit. I’m an opinionated mofo. I’m sarcastic and I’m no stranger to controversy. I’ll admit I’ve said things I regret. I say what’s on my mind and it ain’t always PC, but I’ll won’t call someone a derogatory name in a debate.
Pardon my French, but if you want to rip someone a new one, be the smart ass, not the jack ass. Ye ken? It weakens your argument and will further push someone away from the point you are trying to make. It’s one thing to say them in person, it’s another to write it online for everyone to see.
