Ever had a food allergy? Ever wonder why? The huge jump in childhood food allergies in the US is in the news often, but most reports fail to consider a link to a recent radical change in America’s diet. Beginning in 1996, bacteria, virus and other genes have been artificially inserted to the DNA of soy, corn, cottonseed and canola plants. These unlabeled genetically modified (GM) foods carry a risk of triggering life-threatening allergic reactions, and evidence collected over the past decade now suggests that they are contributing to higher allergy rates.
These foods are making people sick and Monsanto and other multi billion dollar corporations want to cover it up.
As of October 14, 2012 the “Yes on Prop 37” campaign has raised $7.7 million. The “No on Prop 37” campaign has raised $35.6 million. Seems unfair that the donors that want to suppress this information are overpowering those that want the truth. These are the $100,000 and over donors to the “no” campaign as of October 14, 2012. Any of their names sound familiar? The lead donor is Monsanto. Surprise, surprise!
If the opposition can raise more money, then the supporters of Prop 37, which would require all genetically modified foods in the state of California to be labeled as such, should be as vocal as possible. Utilize word of mouth and social media. If you don’t live in California tell your friends who live here to vote “Yes on Prop 37.”
The election is approaching and this is our chance to stand up to corporations and demand the truth. #VegansofIG
